If there was a God, he must be outright laughing at Shouichi right now. For some reason, and he didn’t know what that reason was, he always ended up with people who enjoyed his misery a tad too much.
“Would you please stop referring to me as a geek?” he huffed exasperatedly. His work was more than just your usual geek things, after all. “It makes you sound like a high school bully too, mind you,” he added a bit more calmly then, though the stare he was giving Belphegor was not exactly a forgiving one.
Supposedly it was still kinder one than those he sometimes gave Byakuran, however.
He eyed the approaching blond warily, though he was glad Belphegor seemed to ignore Shou for the time being. (A sad fact? He had never been the one to come up with such an unoriginal name for the child, but that was too late now.)
“I highly doubt wrinkles will be my biggest problem in the future,” he said tensely as he flinched at the flick. “And please keep those comments to yourself. Being a worrywart doesn’t make me anyone’s mother.” If he were a little more violent and braver, he might consider throwing the plastic bag he was carrying at Belphegor’s face. Alas, he was not.
“Shishi a worrywart makes you more of the maman type~ Best the dad’s not as much of a worrywart as Shouichi~” Bel was basing this “logic” on personal experience, though he had to admit, staring down at mini-Shou gave him a sick feeling of nostalgia in the pit of his stomach.
Caught up in his own feelings and past memories, the prince moved to be the same height as mini-Shou, holding his head in his hands, “Hey, kiddo, who’s your siblings and Papa?” He asked nonchalantly, not really expecting an answer. The crinkling of paper caught the prince’s attention. Looking up, he saw that the older redhead was carrying some plastic paper bags —
… Oh shi—
Bel stood up abruptly, mentally face palming. Crap, groceries! The prince grimaced before shaking it off.

“Where ya off to?” He asked, looking at Shouichi, “Does Shouichi take his kids out to the park?” The blonde looked down at mini-Shou, “Shou-chibi should convince his Mamma to take him to the park every once in a while~”
“You’re lucky that I greeted you at all. I could have simply continued on walking right passed you.” Mammon began, completely ignoring the Prince’s childish expression. “If you pay me, though, I’ll give you a re-do. If that’s really what you want.”
Letting out a soft ‘hn’ at Belphegor’s final questions, the illusionist’s lips tugged downwards slightly into a slight frown. “Why do you assume that I’m the one that’s gotten him angry? It could have been anyone — even you.”
“That’s not very nice, Mammon, joking about ignoring a prince,” Bel grumbled, though it was more of an act then how he really felt. It was simply Mammon being his usual self, something the prince had gotten use to, so his comments had zero effect on him. In fact, Bel grinned and snickered soon after. Playing with Mammon was always the greatest~
“Shishi couldn’t have been the Prince~ He hasn’t talked, seen, or even stood in the same room as cranky Boss~” Bel had been in his room all day playing video games and refusing to leave. As far as he was concerned, the prince had been a good boy. “Maybe it was Sharky shishi~”

Mammon lifted his head slightly upon hearing his own name being called out by an familiar voice. “… oh, it’s you.” Belphegor. Naturally. That laughter was unmistakable. “Nothing in particular. I’m simply avoiding the Boss. He’s in a rather foul mood today.”
“Ahh? What’s with that kind of greeting?” Bel puffed one cheek out childishly, before stopping when Mammon mentioned their cranky boss, “Eh? Why? What did Mammon do this time to piss Boss off?”

“If it was up to me, he wouldn’t call me that!” Shouichi insisted, feeling a sting in his chest at the harsh words but not showing it outwardly. Harsh words weren’t exactly uncommon in his life - or hadn’t been, he should say. “He’s not…” He hesitated, glancing back at Shou who seemed to listening in on the conversation with curiosity typical of children. “You want to blame someone, I can direct you to the person who made the children call me that.” Oops, plural.
As Bel continued, Shouichi let out a sigh and momentarily closed his eyes. Physical assault seemed highly unlikely right at the moment, he thought to himself, but he should stiil be careful.
“He has been living with me long enough for me to get attached to him. Isn’t that only natural?” he questioned in return, a small frown of displeasure apparent on his face, but it soon changed into one of exhaustion. It was tiring to deal with these sorts of people, and Shouichi had been doing that a lot lately.
“But if you insist, you could call him my adopted son.” He could feel Shou clinging to his jeans a little bit at that. “Again, if it was up to me, he would not be calling me his mamma.” Shouichi’s lips twitched.
If possible, Bel’s grin grew even wider. Shouichi getting riled up and acting defensive was entertaining to no end, and the prince couldn’t help but pick up every little thing the redhead was saying, even —
“Children??” Bel snickered out loud again, standing up and stretching his arms above his head, “Be careful what you say around the kiddies, geek; they can be really sensitive if you don’t choose your words correctly~”
A tip from one adoptive father to another, though Bel didn’t add that bit. The blonde jumped down from the wall, approaching the two redheads. Despite his unhostile state of being, Shouichi was still on guard and made sure mini-Shou was well out of the prince’s reach.
The blonde ignored mini-Shou and stopped directly in front of the older redhead, staring into his eyes, his large grin dimming down to a smug smirk. He reached out and flicked Shouichi between the brows, “Keep that up and you’ll get wrinkles shishi~”

“No wonder Shouichi’s the maman; he’s a complete worrywart shishi~”
Bel unintentionally perked up at the familiar hooded figure, running over to him. “Mammon~ Ushishishi~” The blonde crossed his arms behind his head, turning to face the spellcaster while walking backwards.

“What’cha up to?”
“Eh?” Bel tilted his head at seeing a familiar-looking brunette. “Shishi~ If it ain’t the tuna fish~ What brings you around?”

Shouichi didn’t hear the soft sound from someone landing nearby before the familiar sound spoke up, effectively startling him and making the elder redhead turn his head to the direction of the sound.
Belphegor.
Shouichi’s grip over Shou’s hand tightened slightly, and the small boy blinked as they both halted, the curious green eyes then moving over to the blond that had appeared from nowhere.
Shou stared. “Mamma-” he started, tugging on the adult’s sleeve. “-where did he come from? Is he a fairy? But fairies don’t exist…” Little Shou peered up at the blond again before backing off.
Shouichi, on the other hand, sighed as he tried to keep the child behind his back for now. “It’s not like that,” Shouichi said, not replying to the little one’s questions but instead talking to Belphegor. What was he doing there in the first place? At this area, Wasn’t he supposed to be in Italy?
Questions, questions.
“He’s just-” Shouichi glanced at the child, a hint of fondness passing his face before he turned his gaze back to Belphegor, one hand still pushing Shou to stay behind him. “-a child I’m taking care of.” His lips twitched into a smile. “As if that would be even possible, Belphegor-san,” he said with a hint of exasperation to his voice, his face contorted into an indignant expression.
Impregnating himself… As if, but a certain person would be happy if that were possible.
Shouichi’s eyebrows twitched at that mental image.
” ‘Mamma’?” Bel repeated the mini-Shouichi, tilting his head as the ever-present grin on his face grew, “Awwww~ How cuuute shishi~ The geek’s gone and made himself a make-believe family~” Despite his harsh words, the prince knew he wasn’t in any position to even poke fun at the subject. Still, making fun of other people was a favorite past time for the prince. Besides, what Shouichi didn’t know wouldn’t hurt the prince~
Though, when Shouichi addressed the blonde to answer his question, Bel picked up on it. The look of exasperation at having to meet up with the prince on such a day melted away to love and care as the redhead switched to look from Bel, to mini-Shou, before back at Bel, though the look disappeared back to annoyance. Heh, so Shouichi was really fond of the brat, eh?

Bel smirked, resting his chin on the back of his hand, prompted up by the elbow on his knee, “Shishi, who do you think you’re lying to, peasant? ‘Just a child you’re taking care of’?” Bel could roll his eyes, but it’s not like Shouichi could see. Of course Bel knew it wasn’t possible, but with everything he, and even Shouichi, have been through, anything was possible.
“You’re awfully fond of the little twerp for ‘just a child’ you’re caring for~” Bel continued to push the subject, hidden eyes sparkling with mischief. “Don’t play dumb with a prince, especially a genius such as I ushishi~”
“Ah, come now, Shou-kun,” Shouichi murmured to the young child that kept trailing behind him and stopping to stare at the shop windows and whatnot. “You don’t want to get lost, do you?”
The child, in response, hurried back to the elder redhead’s side while sucking on his thumb. Shouichi sighed, extending a hand for the little redhead; as cute as he was, Shou could still be quite a child sometimes.
Although, that was the way it was supposed to be, after all the kid was just four.
“Let’s get something to eat,” he smiled down at Shou as he balanced the shopping bags in his other arm. “Maybe cheesecake? But don’t tell Papa about it later.” Shou raised his head, the innocent and a few shades lighter eyes gleaming with surprise and childish joy. “Okay!”
Shouichi nearly tripped over when Shou started tugging him forward a little too enthusiastically. “Ah, Shou-kun, I’m going to trip if you do that…!”
Bel sighed, completely bored, as he crossed his arms behind his head. He had no idea why Lussuria would send him, of all people, to do the shopping. Before the prince knew it, the money was gone, spent on ice cream and arcade games.
“Ahh~ What’s the Prince to do~?” He wondered to himself out loud. If he returned without the things Lussuria asked for, he would be scolded. If he didn’t return at all, he would still be scolded. Dammit, he was a grown man and he was still treated like a kid —!
“Hm?” The blonde’s ears perked up, hearing a familiar voice somewhere nearby. Looking to his right, the blonde saw a concrete wall separating him from the ally next door. Not that it mattered, really. The prince easily jumped it, landing like a cat with his elbows on his knees.
To his surprise, Bel saw a familiar redhead with a miniature version of himse—
“…” Bel had to do a double take, just to make sure he wasn’t seeing things.
”… Shishishi, so with science, the geek’s managed to impregnate himself~?” The prince couldn’t help but to tease Shouichi, snickering at the situation.
